Dr. David Tallmon

Associate Professor of Biology and Department Chair

Dr. David Tallmon is an Associate Professor of Biology and the Department Chair for the University of Alaska - Southeast. Dr. Tallmon received his Ph.D from the University of Montana.

Dr. Tallmon's general interests are in evolution, ecology, and conservation biology. His focus is on understanding the evolutionary and ecological dynamics of natural populations using demographic and genetic models, molecular genetic data, and field data. He has a long-standing interest in combining population genomics and demographic information to infer important evolutionary and demographic parameters for wild populations. More recently, Dr. Tallmon's post-docs and he have focused upon the role of phenotypic plasticity in adaptation.
